Arms open wide to the sky
Sun beating down on my face
Light fill me to the core
Shine on even the darkest place

Peace and warmth flow
like unending rivers through my body
as arms embrace and shelter my broken soul.

Invisible tears and pain pour out
They are hidden for others to be unawares
of the power of their kindness.

What they have done for me
I’ll never disclose least they truly see
the wounds bared open for the world to rub salt into.

I’ll never cry in the face of my salvation
as long as I can hold myself up to my false disguise
and not show the weakness that I really am.

I fear only that my saviors shall one day
see through the veil of reason and logic
that hide the child that years to fear no more.
